There’s something truly magical about weddings in the Adirondacks. The way the weather shifts, the mountains surround you, and the wild beauty becomes part of the story. Alyssa and Andrew’s late August wedding at the Bark Eater Inn in Keene, NY, was the perfect example of that Adirondack magic.

The day began with Alyssa and Andrew sharing their first look down by the river. It was a quiet, intimate moment away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding morning.

If you’ve spent time in the Adirondacks, you know the weather can be unpredictable. The skies shifted all day, but the rain held off — until the ceremony.

Just as Alyssa began walking down the aisle, the sky opened up and a sun shower swept through. The light caught every single raindrop. The sky kept changing throughout the entire ceremony, creating a backdrop that was completely unique to their day.

The rain cleared and the evening unfolded into laughter, incredible drinks from Tapped Into The Catskills, a mobile bar, and dancing with a view of the surrounding Adirondack mountains. The Bark Eater Inn provided the perfect balance of rustic charm and mountain beauty, with its open fields, woodsy trails, and cozy inn atmosphere.
As if the day hadn’t already given them enough magic, Alyssa and Andrew were gifted with an epic Adirondack sunset to close out the night.

Alyssa and Andrew’s wedding was the kind of day that reminds me why I love photographing in the Adirondacks. Between the river, the mountains, the sun shower during the ceremony, and the sunset finale, their love story was wrapped in everything this region has to offer.
